# What is Facade Rate?

What Facade Rate means, how it's calculated, and how it relates to Passersby and Facade Stop.

## Definition

This explains the meaning and structure of Facade Rate, a KPI related to changes in the number of customers who stop by.

Facade Rate is a metric showing what percentage of customers passing in front of the store stopped in the facade area. Synonymous with Stop Rate.

Facade Rate is made up of two KPIs:

- The number of customers who passed in front of the store (= Passersby)

- The number of customers who stopped in the facade area (= Facade Stop)

Since Facade Rate represents what percentage of passersby stopped in the facade area, it's expressed as a percentage.

For more detail, see [What is Passersby?](https://help.flow-insight.com/en/articles/28-What-is-Passersby%3F.md).

For more detail, see [What is Facade Stop?](https://help.flow-insight.com/en/articles/26-What-is-Facade-Stop%3F.md).

## Formula

**Formula: Facade Rate (%) = Facade Stop ÷ Passersby × 100**

## Why it matters

Facade Rate is a useful metric for verifying the effectiveness of things like facade-area VMD changes, events, or POP displays.

Adjust the period you're measuring based on your goal.
